San Giovanni is the southernmost tip of the municipality of Posada and borders directly on the small fishing and marina village of La Caletta. This is a great advantage, as – unlike San Giovanni – La Caletta offers just about everything a holidaymaker could wish for in terms of facilities.
San Giovanni is situated right by the sea in a pine forest. The locals have built their holiday homes here without giving a second thought to any town planning. Consequently, in contrast to the uniformity of Central European new-build estates, the village exudes the charm of Mediterranean diversity. The beautiful beach has something for everyone. Families with children will find plenty to enjoy here, as will surfers, sun-worshippers and holidaymakers who simply want to switch off and relax. Incidentally, although San Giovanni is an excellent surfing spot, surfers still tend to be in the minority. The majority of our guests are non-surfers, who time and again choose the village as their destination because of its many other attractions.
All the houses in San Giovanni are situated so that the beach, shops, bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance. To the south, San Giovanni borders La Caletta, and this pretty marina and small fishing harbour is actually the heart of San Giovanni. It’s bustling here all year round. There’s a promenade lined with shops, boutiques and entertainment options, including for children. You’ll find the best gelateria far and wide in La Caletta, and anyone who loves seafood will find just what they’re looking for in the harbour. The great thing is that it’s within walking distance of Sardafit’s properties in San Giovanni, so not only can you enjoy excellent seafood, but you can also let it ‘swim’ in wine to perfection!
Posada Bay is a single, large sandy bay. If you approach it from the north, you first come to the estuary of the Rio di Posada. Anyone who loves unspoilt nature will be enthralled by the sight of this stretch of beach. San Giovanni lies about two kilometres away. Here, alongside the fine-grained, gently sloping sandy beach, there are a few small stretches of rocky shore, in the middle of which stands a Saracen tower. Just behind it lies the small yacht and fishing harbour of La Caletta. At its far end, the magnificent sandy beach continues. The southern end of Posada Bay is bordered by the bustling holiday resort of Santa Lucia. Whilst the northern parts are virtually undeveloped, sections of the beach south of La Caletta are lined with holiday homes. The sandy beach also ends at Santa Lucia. This is followed by a dense pine forest with a rocky beach, which only gives way to another sandy bay at Capo Comino.
There are plenty of parking spaces right by the beach. You only have to pay in a few places. If you’d rather avoid the small charge, you can park in the hinterland so that the beach is within easy walking distance.

Nightlife: In La Caletta, a programme geared more towards locals for all age groups, available all year round.

Language courses: A small, dynamic language school opened in Posada in 2003, which also offers short courses.
Telecommunications: Mobile phone reception almost everywhere. Payphones in street cafés. Additional fax and telephone services provided by a German-speaking service office in the village.
Hiking: The local “Pro Loco” in Orosei (= the municipality’s tourist office) offers a wide range of exploration tours across the whole island. Sardafits’ service office organises tours exclusively for its guests into the unspoilt mountainous hinterland, the highlight of which is a feast with Sardinian shepherds in the most beautiful countryside; boat trips to the offshore islands; the grand Sardinian wedding feast at a farmhouse in the countryside; and much more. For hikes in the mountainous hinterland around Sardinia’s highest peaks (1,800 m), a map is advisable as there are no signposts away from the roads. A real treat: beach walks!
