The idea of naming the old lighthouse – around which this charming village was built – ‘Torre delle Stelle’ (Tower of the Stars) probably stemmed from the feeling that, in this spot, one is a little closer to the celestial bodies than elsewhere. And indeed, at night, the two hills towering above the sea offer a mostly unobstructed view of the Milky Way.
But it is not only under the cover of night that Torre delle Stelle exudes a romantic and enchanting atmosphere. Within sight of the island’s capital, Cagliari, you can experience day after day just how relaxing the combination of sweeping views and the sound of the sea is here. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a holiday ‘all’italiana’, Torre delle Stelle is the perfect place for you.

A villa by the sea…

Torre delle Stelle was discovered in the 1960s. The aim was to create a holiday resort offering plenty of privacy and charm. Consequently, the more affluent families from Cagliari and the Italian mainland were drawn to the two hills below the lighthouse to establish prestigious family residences by the sea.
Since then, sprawling plots of land with spacious villas have defined the character of the holiday resort, creating a wonderful retreat for all romantics, those who love gazing out to sea, and lovers of the ‘old’ Fellini-era Italy.
