Porto Rotondo

Porto Rotondo is located in the far north-east of the island. Although it is not part of the nearby, world-famous Costa Smeralda, it can certainly compete with it in terms of glamour.

Porto Rotondo is home to representatives of high finance and the aristocracy, including the King of Belgium, and Silvio Berlusconi owns a magnificent villa here on a headland.

The nature, landscape, beaches and sea in this area can only be described in superlatives. The Aga Khan recognised this too when he bought and developed this stretch of coastline around 1968, taking great care not to spoil the landscape with ugly concrete monstrosities, as was already the case elsewhere in the Mediterranean at that time.

That is why villages such as Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo blend seamlessly into the wild nature of the picturesque coastline with its monumental rock formations and fragrant scrubland. Both places offer a wide range of leisure activities, and their narrow streets and squares with numerous boutiques, bars and restaurants invite you to stroll and linger. However, the exclusivity of these destinations means that prices here are higher than elsewhere on the island. Fortunately, this is not the case for the two Sardafit houses 1500 and 1540 in Porto Rotondo, which are available at relatively affordable rental prices.
