The House with the Snail – No. 452C

The snail stands for slowing down and taking life at a gentler pace. It is no coincidence that Slow Food also uses the snail in its logo. In this house, too, the snail plays a special role – although in its very own way. More about that in a moment.

First, let’s talk about the house itself: the Schnecken-Villa is located very close to Capo Comino, just a few steps from one of the most beautiful beaches on Sardinia’s east coast. If you love fine sand, clear water and the famous dunes of Capo Comino, this is exactly the right place for you.

The grounds are another real highlight. They are spacious, beautifully designed and offer plenty of room for children to play. Adults will appreciate the generous barbecue area and the space to retreat and relax in peace. Having room around you, not living too close to others, and being able to enjoy your holiday undisturbed – that is worth a great deal in Sardinia.

The apartment itself is practical and family-friendly. It has a double bedroom, a children’s bedroom and an additional bedroom with a 120 cm wide bed. This makes it well suited for a family of five; if required, there is also space for a sixth person. A washing machine, dishwasher and other useful amenities are also available.

Of course, there is air conditioning as well. The owner is an air-conditioning technician, so that almost goes without saying. Whether you really need it during the Sardinian summer is a matter of personal preference. Many guests manage very well without it, but those who like to be on the safe side will certainly appreciate this feature.

The large property is shared by three apartments. The two apartments on the ground floor are slightly smaller. The house is also well suited for families travelling together with friends.

And now for the snail: in the outdoor area there is a large masonry shower built in the shape of a snail. It is not only original, but also extremely practical. You can shower there undisturbed, without a shower curtain or door, yet still well protected from view. Both hot and cold water are available. After a day at the beach, this outdoor shower almost becomes a little holiday experience in itself – and makes the indoor showers nearly unnecessary.

In short: close to the beach, family-friendly, well equipped and with a special detail you do not find everywhere. The Schnecken-Villa is a house for everyone who wants to enjoy Sardinia in a relaxed, uncomplicated way and close to the sea.
