Anyone who wants peace and quiet on vacation and has no desire for prying eyes will probably feel at home here very quickly. This semi-detached house is not attached wall-to-wall in the traditional sense, but rather back-to-back. Add to that a high wall, plenty of greenery, and a garden that provides a pleasantly generous distance from neighbors and passers-by. In other words: you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast on the covered terrace without anyone keeping track of how many bread rolls you are putting away.

The outside of the house is just as appealing. The garden offers plenty of space to breathe, play, sunbathe, and barbecue. Especially inviting is the brick-built barbecue area with a large stone table and benches – exactly the right place for long evenings with grilled fish, a glass of wine, and that all-important vacation question of who is going to fetch fresh cornetti tomorrow. Around the house, lawns, pathways, and mature plants create a pleasant sense of freedom and privacy.

The living room, with its sofa, fireplace, and bright window nook, strikes just the right balance between everyday holiday living and siesta mood. It is not a staged designer showroom, but a place where you arrive, put your bags down, and take a deep breath. The bedrooms are simple and functional – exactly as you need them in a real holiday home: for sleeping, sleeping in, and for that brief “I’ll just lie down for five minutes,” which somehow turns into a very solid ninety minutes.

A particularly nice feature is that both the bathroom and kitchen have been newly renovated. The kitchen feels bright, well-kept, and practical, with modern fronts and everything you need for self-catering. The bathroom has also been clearly refreshed and presents itself as friendly and clean, with a modern shower – exactly as you would hope for after a day at the beach with sand between your toes.

And then there is one of the house’s greatest advantages: you stay in a pleasantly quiet and private setting, yet the location is still so convenient that many places can easily be reached on foot. The beach, shops, and restaurants are close enough that the car can simply take a break during your holiday. Walking to the bakery in the morning, heading to the beach during the day, and strolling to a restaurant in the evening – that is what a holiday should feel like.

The furnishings are not polished and styled to glossy perfection, but rather established, solid, and practical for everyday use. Some pieces have charm, others are simply functional – but that is exactly what makes this house so appealing to many families. It is not trying to impress anyone; above all, it wants to make for a relaxed and uncomplicated holiday. The newly installed air-conditioning units also contribute to that.

Perhaps that is exactly why this house has held a firm place in the program for so many years: it offers no holiday-home theatrics, just honest vacation advantages. Plenty of privacy, a lovely outdoor area, a renovated bathroom and kitchen, short distances to the beach, shops, and restaurants – and, on top of all that, that pleasant feeling of simply being able to enjoy your holiday in peace.
